With advancements in digital photography it has become so much easier to take quality pictures. If you have a family and a digital camera, you might start asking the question of what’s happening to those images.

So you’ve got a fancy digital camera, now what? If you’re adept with the camera, you probably save the pictures to a hard-drive or to the desktop of your computer. What happens if the hard-drive crashes or someone steals your computer? Those countless hours of time spent, and in some cases years spent, are all wiped away without any way to retrieve your treasures.

People have gotten away from the printing of pictures, instead settling for viewing them online or sharing them via email. How do you think your children will feel, if year’s 5-10 were lost because of a freak electrical storm or because the hard-drive crashed? They would probably feel about as bad as if you hadn’t taught them about the importance of money or a prepaid card for credit purposes.

Printing at least some of your photos is a great way to keep your family’s posterity alive. Many photo printers cost less than $100 and are relatively easy to operate. Even photo printing is not that expensive anymore, as some places charge as little as 5 cents per copy. This photo printing is relatively easy, and ensures that some record of your most precious photos is kept.

Don’t forget to protect your photos in an album. People that take the time to put their photos in air-tight scrapbooks or photo albums would be pleasantly surprised to see the quality of their photos had not faded over time.

Taking care of your photos might sound like a bit of extra work, but the alternative of having no record at all should prompt you into action.
